Nineteenth Sunday after Pentecost. We venture into a piece of Israel’s history that they would probably rather forget. We all have those kinds of days. Moses was up on the mountain receiving the law. The people were demanding a god they could touch. One day they would experience that in the coming of Jesus. But for now they were being asked to trust the God Moses was revealing to them, not a golden calf. When God intends to inflict judgement, Moses intercedes on their behalf. As a result God’s gracious blessing upon his covenant people is renewed. Pastor Frank Reeder preaching.
