Serving Our Community
All  people matter to God, they matter to us, too. As we learn to love and connect with the neighbors who live around our church building, we’re also learning how to love and connect with neighbors who live on our own streets. It’s all about friendships and showing the love of Christ.

Serving Missions at Home and Around the Globe

Operation Christmas Child

Shoebox Packing Party Operation Christmas Child is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, which delivers great joy and the Good News of Jesus Christ to children in need around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes. Each box packed full of quality toys, school supplies, and personal care items becomes a tangible expression of God’s immense love for the child. For many, it is their first gift ever! Delivered by local church partners, shoebox gifts provide an opportunity to present the Gospel to boys and girls in a clear, child-friendly way. Seaview has a goal of packing 3000 shoeboxes in 2023. We supply all of the shoeboxes and gift items, but we need your help to bring it all together!

Many shoebox recipients are also invited to participate in The Greatest Journey, a follow-up discipleship course where they learn to know, grow in, and share Jesus Christ. Through 12 exciting lessons, the boys and girls often become young evangelists who tell their friends and family all they are learning. These people, in turn, spread this news to still others. This dynamic process of evangelism and discipleship is multiplying churches even to the ends of the earth!

Anyplace, Anywhere Serving the Globe
Coats
John and Debbie Coats serve in Cambodia. Debbie is a nurse practitioner and John assists local church leaders in training Christian values to parents and children. Working with Eastern Mennonite Mission, they have a home base in Phnom Phen as well as a very modest outpost in the country where most of their work is centered. One of the major problems they face in seeking to minister in the name of Jesus is the brokenness of trust in the nation due to years of untrustworthy government.
Randy & Sandy
Randy and Sandy Moyer are missionaries involved in church planting in Saint Etienne, France with CrossWorld. They have a heart for growing disciples and have been able to raise up several leaders in the small and deepening congregation. Both Randy and Sandy have significant health issues yet are constantly dependent on God’s power to keep them well enough to care for the church and growing leaders.

BorquistsAnn and Bruce Borquist have served in Brazil since 2004. Recently they coordinated two national departments for the National Baptist Convention of Brazil and its 2,800 churches: the Integral Mission Network and the office of Leadership and Ministry Development. Through these two departments, they provided training, conferences, consultancy, information resources and networking that strengthen the ministries and leadership of state conventions; the auxiliary associations for women, men and youth; and local churches. They are currently on home assignment. When they return to the field it will be to a base in New Zealand where they will be on special assignment to assist our Asian ministries.
