Seaview’s Mission & Vision

Seaview’s mission is for all of us to extravagantly bless people with the love of God so together we grow to follow Jesus Christ wholeheartedly.
Most simply put, Jesus tells his disciples in John’s gospel “Just as the Father sent me, I send you.” (John 20:21) Our mission is to be good news to a world that has been getting quite a bit of bad news for millennia. That gets worked out in practical ways as we demonstrate God’s love to others. We are Christ’s hands, feet and heart. Since our beginnings in 1862, we have been part of the West New Jersey Baptist Association and the American Baptist Churches of New Jersey, a gathering of churches with an eye to doing mission together in a way that enhances our ability to reach out to our world in Christ’s generous love.

When you come to Seaview, expect a warm welcome. This church cares about people. We seek to be authentic followers of Jesus who declared that God’s house is a place of prayer for all people. We are multicultural and love reflecting the full breadth of Christ’s Body. So no matter what your background, there is a place here for you.
Our blended worship style, Sundays at 10:30, seeks to draw from the wealth of traditional as well as new and creative approaches. You will find us singing with a praise team as well as traditional hymns accompanied by organ. Our organist, Paula Dollarhide, is classically trained and plays both piano and organ with a heart lifted up in joyful worship.
Our lead pastor, Dr. Frank Reeder, preaches biblical sermons that usually follow the revised common lectionary. That means what he is preaching is often the same biblical texts being read and taught in many churches throughout the world on any given Sunday. Children are given a special place in our worship with a dedicated children’s time, after which they are invited to Children’s Church.
